a comic i threw together earlier because i’m very stressed out
Please take a moment to imagine Death the Kid trying to play Tetris.
my sister is doing an essay for her finance course about bitcoin and her introduction is basically defining currency and equal payments.
so i told her to add alchemy’s first law of equivalent exchange. she just sent me the essay to look over it and
she fucking did.
"MELISSA" AGGRESSIVELY PLAYING IN THE DISTANCE
said id do a mini tutorial on the way i colored the top lion.
Notes on this, i spent way more time on the top one than the goofy little one. but the same principles are there
i inked the second one which you can or cannot do. on the original i lined it with colored pencil instead of marker. Completely up to your choice.
And on the second one i was using regular sketch paper instead of watercolor paper like i did for the first one. The reason for that was becausei had an old piece just sitting in my backpack for ages that i wanted to use u pbut didnt feel like painting. I actally PREFER that watercolor paper because
A. i didn’t have to press as hard to get the color to blend compared to the sketch paper with the thick texture
B. the texture looked much nicer and added somthing to the drawing and helped prevent that shiny gloss that can be really distracting on sketch paper
IM STILL LEARNING A LOT AND THIS TUTORIAL IS COMPLETELY DEVOID OF COLOR THEORY AND A LOT OF OTHER STUFF SO MAKE OF ITWHAT YOU WILL. ALSO IM PRETTY NEW TO COLORED PENCIL WORK SO IF I COME UP WITH SOMETHING EASIER ILL MAKE A NEW TUTORIAL. hope this one helped!
